📜 About & history
Yongdeng Xiguan Grand Mosque, also called Pingfan Mosque, is on Tuanjie Street in Yongdeng County, Gansu, and was founded in 1929. Its brick-and-timber prayer hall measures 17.8 m by 13 m (231 square metres); the whole mosque has 628 square metres of buildings and holds 600 worshippers. The original wooden minaret was destroyed in the Cultural Revolution and the ablution house and other buildings were pulled down. In 1983, under the restored ethnic and religious policy, 45 rooms were returned to the mosque; it now has 7 shopfronts and 30 rooms, 11 of which are let as an ethnic guesthouse to support the mosque. The gate and minaret were rebuilt in 1991. The current imam is Ye Tingxiang.
