📖 About the university

Wuhu Vocational and Technical University is a full-time public vocational-bachelor's university located in Wuhu, Anhui, and one of the largest applied vocational institutions in the province. The institution was founded in 1983 as Wuhu United University, was renamed Wuhu Institute of Technology in 1997, and successively absorbed the Wuhu Agricultural School, the Wuhu Institute of Information Technology and the Wuhu Normal School, before the Ministry of Education approved its establishment as Wuhu Vocational and Technical University in June 2025, formally unveiled that August. The university comprises around twenty-three teaching units offering seventeen vocational-bachelor's programmes and sixty college-level programmes, with schools spanning mechanical, electrical, automotive, information, network, materials and architectural engineering as well as economics and management, international trade, horticulture and landscape, arts and media, applied foreign languages and bioengineering. It operates several campuses, including Wenjin, Yinhu, Baima and Nanling, covering nearly 2,400 mu and serving more than twenty-four thousand full-time students. As a member of the national high-level vocational-college construction plan and one of China's first national demonstrative higher-vocational colleges, it is a leading applied institution in eastern China. As an applied vocational university it enrols primarily domestic students and does not currently offer a dedicated Chinese-language pathway for international applicants.
