📖 About the university
Guangdong Medical University is a public medical university with campuses in the coastal city of Zhanjiang and in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. It was founded in 1958 as the Zhanjiang branch of Sun Yat-sen Medical College and became an independent institution soon after. The university is strong in clinical medicine, medical laboratory science and nursing, and operates several affiliated hospitals serving western Guangdong. Its research has particular strengths in organ failure and critical-care medicine. International students are welcomed onto its English-taught MBBS programme.
