📖 About the university

China People's Police University, commonly abbreviated in Chinese as Jing Da, is a public university located in Langfang in Hebei Province and directly affiliated with the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China. It was founded on 24 April 1981, originally as the Chinese People's Armed Police Force Academy, and was reorganised and renamed to its present title in 2018 as part of the nationwide reform of the armed police and public-security forces. The university specialises in training officers for the immigration administration, border and coastal defence, public-security policing, and firefighting and rescue services, and it has a particular national role in international police co-operation. It is well known for preparing personnel for overseas assignments, including liaison officers stationed abroad, foreign-affairs police and Chinese contributions to United Nations peacekeeping police missions. As a specialised policing institution its admissions, training and campus life follow a disciplined, uniformed model, and its core academic strengths lie in immigration management, border defence, public-security intelligence and fire-protection engineering.

Langfang is a prefecture-level city in Hebei Province, strategically located on the corridor between Beijing and Tianjin, with the two megacities only a short high-speed train ride away.
