Jiangxi University of Science and Technology in Ganzhou is one of China's most important universities for metallurgy, mining and rare-earth science, reflecting Ganzhou's status as the country's rare-earth and tungsten capital. Founded in 1958, it hosts a dedicated School of Rare Earths and national research platforms in ionic rare-earth extraction, tungsten metallurgy and copper processing.
