Jiangsu Polytechnic College of Agriculture and Forestry is a full-time public higher-vocational college located in Jurong, a county-level city under Zhenjiang in southern Jiangsu, and affiliated with the provincial agriculture and forestry system. Its history reaches back to 1923, when American missionaries founded a vocational church school in China, and the modern college has developed into one of the country's leading agricultural vocational institutions. The college operates a main campus together with the Jiangsu Agricultural Expo Park and the Jiangsu Tea Expo Park, and is organised into around ten teaching units, including the Schools of Landscape Architecture, Agronomy and Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Tea and Food Science and Technology, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering, Economics and Humanities, and International Education. It is a national demonstrative and high-level (double-high) vocational college, with particular strengths in horticulture, agronomy, seed science and animal science, and it maintains extensive agricultural demonstration and research bases. Reflecting its founding mission, it trains skilled technicians and managers for modern agriculture, gardening and the food industry across Jiangsu. As an applied vocational college it enrols primarily domestic students, though it operates an International Education unit, and does not otherwise advertise a dedicated Chinese-language pathway for international applicants.
