Shandong University of Art and Design is a public undergraduate art institution located in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, and is the only independent public design-focused university among China's art academies. Established in 1973, it has grown into one of China's thirty-one dedicated art and design academies and now operates several campuses, with two in Jinan, an innovation and entrepreneurship college in Zibo and an industry-education integration base in Qingdao. The university offers a comprehensive range of art and design programs through schools of fine arts, visual communication design, industrial design, digital art and media, and fashion design. It is particularly distinguished in arts and crafts, industrial design, visual communication design and the study and preservation of Chinese folk art, drawing on Shandong's deep traditional cultural heritage. As a specialized art university, it admits international students and provides Chinese-language study for learners in China.
