Gannan Medical University is a public medical university in Ganzhou, southern Jiangxi province, with roots dating to 1941. It is the principal medical institution serving the mountainous Gannan region, offering clinical medicine, basic medicine, preventive medicine, pharmacy and nursing. The university operates affiliated teaching hospitals and conducts research relevant to rural and revolutionary-base-area health care. It trains many of the doctors and health workers of southern Jiangxi and enrolls international medical students.
