📖 About the university

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) is a private, non-profit university that was formally granted university status in 2018, having evolved from the Hang Seng School of Commerce, founded in 1980, and the later Hang Seng Management College. Its green hillside campus at Siu Lek Yuen in Sha Tin was purpose-built to support residential, liberal-arts-style learning with small classes and close staff-student interaction. The university teaches primarily in English and is organised into schools of Business, Communication, Decision Sciences, Humanities and Social Science, Translation and Foreign Languages, and Transdisciplinary Studies. Reflecting its commercial heritage, HSUHK is especially strong in business disciplines such as accounting, supply-chain and operations management, finance, and marketing, as well as in translation and communication, and it emphasises a 'liberal arts + professional' educational philosophy. Although it is a young institution without an individual overall QS world-ranking number, it has built a reputation for high teaching quality, industry engagement, and strong graduate employment in Hong Kong's business sector.
