Xiangnan University is a public undergraduate university in Chenzhou, southern Hunan province, formed in 2003 from the merger of local medical and teacher-training colleges with histories dating to 1912. It is a comprehensive institution combining medicine, engineering, teacher education and the liberal arts. Its strongest fields are clinical medicine and nursing, supported by affiliated hospitals, together with mechanical engineering.
