Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is a public university in Beijing, founded in 1962, and it is the only university in China whose primary mission is teaching the Chinese language and culture to international students and training teachers of Chinese as a foreign language. It is part of the national Double First-Class initiative for its distinctive disciplinary strengths.
