Hunan University of Science and Engineering is a provincial public university in Yongzhou, southern Hunan Province. Founded in 1941 as the Hunan Provincial Seventh Normal School, it began college education in 1971 and was renamed to its current form in 2004. The university comprises around sixteen departments offering programs in the humanities, science, engineering and management. It is known for research on Zhou Dunyi and Lianxi Neo-Confucian culture rooted in the Yongzhou area.
