📖 About the university

Jinzhong College of Information is a private undergraduate institution in Taigu, the historic merchant-banking county of Jinzhong in central Shanxi that is now the seat of the province's agricultural university. It was founded in 2002 as the College of Information of Shanxi Agricultural University, an independent college beside that century-old parent, and in 2020 it converted into a free-standing private school under the present name. The college belongs to the same education group as Chongqing College of Mobile Communication and shares that group's distinctive model: a residential college system that assigns every student to a small cross-disciplinary community, a liberal-arts-style Yuanjing honours college, and a heavy programme of extracurricular education that the group brands whole-person development. Academically the school pairs information engineering, computer science, big data and intelligent-engineering programmes with business, management, accounting and food- and agriculture-adjacent tracks inherited from its agricultural-university years. The Taigu campus places students in the courtyard country of the Shanxi merchants, an hour from Taiyuan. Teaching is in Chinese and enrolment is domestic.
