📖 About the university

Liaoning Institute of Technology is a private undergraduate institution in Jinzhou, the coastal and industrial city of western Liaoning on the Bohai Sea. It was founded in 2003 as the Wenli College of Bohai University — the college of arts and sciences of Jinzhou's main comprehensive university — and operated for a decade as an independent college before the Ministry of Education approved its conversion in 2014 into a free-standing private institution under the present name, one of the earlier such conversions in the national reform of independent colleges. Since standing on its own it has reshaped itself from an arts-and-sciences college into an application-oriented school with engineering at the centre: mechanical and electronic engineering, computer science, civil engineering and electrical programmes sit alongside accounting, management, e-commerce and languages. Jinzhou's position as a transport gateway between northeast China and the interior, with petrochemical, machinery and agricultural-processing industries, shapes both internships and graduate employment. Teaching is in Chinese and enrolment is domestic.
