📖 About the university
China Medical University (CMU) in Shenyang, founded in 1931, holds a unique place in Chinese history as the only Western-medicine university created and run by the Communist Party during the revolutionary era, having accompanied the Red Army on the Long March. Today it is a leading medical university in northeast China with particular strength in clinical medicine, basic medicine and public health. It operates several large affiliated hospitals, including two of the biggest in the region. The university has educated international medical students for decades and offers an English-taught MBBS programme. CMU is a historic and respected destination for medical study in northern China.
