Shangrao Normal University, founded in 1958, is a teacher-training university in northeast Jiangxi, near the scenic Wuyuan villages and Sanqing Mountain. It trains teachers across the humanities, sciences, education and the arts, and is noted for its research into the Neo-Confucian philosopher Zhu Xi, associated with the region. It serves the schools of northeastern Jiangxi. Its campus lies in a scenic area.
