📖 About the university

Guizhou Communications Polytechnic University is a full-time public vocational-bachelor's university located in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou. It was founded in 1958 as the Guizhou Communications School, and in 2000 the provincial government merged it with the Guizhou Communications Cadre School and a driver-training technical school to form Guizhou Communications Vocational and Technical College, which the Ministry of Education elevated to Guizhou Communications Polytechnic University in May 2024. It is organised into around eleven teaching units, including the Departments of Road and Bridge Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Management Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Information Engineering, Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, Logistics Engineering and Rail Transit Engineering, offering about thirty college-level programmes and six vocational-bachelor's programmes. The university has built national high-level programme clusters in road and bridge engineering technology and in automotive application and maintenance oriented toward intelligent transport in China's western mountains. Reflecting Guizhou's demanding topography of mountains, rivers and the world's highest bridges, it is a leading regional institution for transport and civil engineering. As an applied vocational university it enrols primarily domestic students and does not currently advertise a dedicated Chinese-language pathway for international applicants.
