📖 About the university
Wuhan University of Communication is a private media-focused undergraduate university in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, and describes itself as the only media-specialised undergraduate institution in central China. It began in 2004 as the Wuhan Film Engineering College of Central China Normal University, was renamed the Wuhan Media College of that university in 2007, and in 2016 was approved by the Ministry of Education to convert into an independent private undergraduate university under its present name. It is organised into around eight teaching units and offers roughly thirty-two undergraduate programmes centred on journalism and communication, broadcasting and hosting, film and television, design and the humanities. As one of Hubei's first pilot universities for transformation toward applied education, it emphasises hands-on training in studios, editing suites and production facilities. Its core strengths lie in journalism and communication, broadcasting and hosting, film and television, animation and design. It suits students pursuing careers in media, broadcasting, film and the creative arts in central China.

🌆 About Wuhan
Wuhan is the capital of Hubei province and the largest city in central China, formed from three historic towns where the Yangtze and Han rivers meet. With a metropolitan population of around 13 million, it is a major hub for transport, industry, and higher education, home to a dense concentration of universities. The climate is humid subtropical and known for very hot, humid summers that earn it a reputation as one of China's furnaces, along with cold, damp winters. Landmarks include the historic Yellow Crane Tower, the vast East Lake, the pioneering Yangtze River Bridge, and the snack-lined Hubu Alley. Local food is famous for hot dry noodles, Wuchang fish, and spicy duck neck. An expanding metro network, Tianhe International Airport, and a central high-speed rail position make it one of the country's best-connected cities. For an international student, Wuhan offers a huge student population, strong universities, affordable living, and a lively, youthful energy.
