📖 About the university

Xinglin College of Nantong University is a private undergraduate independent college whose main campus stands by the Yellow Sea in Qidong, a coastal city near Shanghai administered by Nantong in Jiangsu Province. Its predecessor, Xinglin College of Nantong Medical College, was founded in February 1999; after Nantong Medical College, Nantong Institute of Technology and Nantong Teachers College merged to form Nantong University in 2004, it was renamed Xinglin College of Nantong University and approved as a full independent college in 2005. The college moved entirely to its seaside Qidong campus in 2019, on a site planned at nearly 1,200 mu with the aim of an ecological, garden-like, digital and sea-view campus. Serving over 10,000 students, it offers around forty-four undergraduate programmes across economics, literature, science, engineering, medicine, management and the arts, with medicine as a distinctive heritage from its origins. A planned merger with a vocational college in 2021 was halted, and it continues as an independent college. Its core strengths lie in clinical medicine, nursing, medical sciences, engineering and management. It suits students seeking medical and applied undergraduate education in a coastal setting near Shanghai.
