📖 About the university

Sichuan Engineering Vocational and Technical University is a full-time public vocational-bachelor's university located in Deyang, Sichuan, and was the first public vocational technology university approved in the province. The institution traces its history to the Deyang Heavy Machinery Manufacturing School founded in 1959 under the former First Ministry of Machine Building, merged in 2001 with other provincial schools to form Sichuan Engineering Vocational and Technical College, which absorbed the Deyang Education College in 2006. In January 2024 the Ministry of Education approved its elevation to Sichuan Engineering Vocational and Technical University, and it now runs some forty-four college-level programmes alongside its first vocational-bachelor's majors. It is organised into schools including Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing Industry, Transportation Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Software Engineering, Economics and Management, Tourism Management and Arts. Sitting in Deyang, one of China's principal heavy-equipment manufacturing bases alongside enterprises such as China National Erzhong and Dongfang Electric, the university is nationally recognised for materials forming, welding and CNC technology and has long supplied skilled engineers to the equipment-manufacturing industry. As an applied vocational university it enrols primarily domestic students and does not currently advertise a dedicated Chinese-language pathway for international applicants.
