📖 About the university

Shaanxi Agriculture and Forestry Vocational and Technical University is a full-time public vocational-bachelor's university located in Yangling, China's first national agricultural high-tech industry demonstration zone. Its teaching history dates to a vocational class attached to the National Northwest College of Agriculture and Forestry in 1934, and the modern institution was formed in 1999 by merging the provincial Agricultural School, Water Conservancy School and Forestry School into Yangling Vocational and Technical College. In June 2025 the Ministry of Education and the Shaanxi provincial government approved its elevation to the undergraduate Shaanxi Agriculture and Forestry Vocational and Technical University. The university is the only vocational institution in China offering a complete range of agriculture, forestry, water-conservancy and animal-husbandry disciplines, and it is a national demonstrative and high-level (double-high) vocational college. It is organised into around sixteen teaching units, including the Schools of Water Resources Engineering, Architecture and Engineering, Transportation and Surveying Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Ecological and Environmental Engineering, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering, Animal Engineering, Economics and Trade, and Tourism and Management. As an applied vocational university rooted in agriculture, it enrols primarily domestic students and does not currently offer a dedicated Chinese-language pathway for international applicants.
