Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, founded in 1952, is the leading traditional-Chinese-medicine university of Shaanxi in northwest China. It teaches Chinese medicine, acupuncture and tuina, Chinese pharmacy, clinical medicine and nursing, drawing on the deep medical heritage of the Guanzhong region and the legacy of the great Tang physician Sun Simiao. Its affiliated hospitals provide traditional-medicine care across the northwest. Located in Xianyang beside the ancient capital Xi'an, it combines classical Chinese-medicine study with modern clinical practice.
