📖 About the university

West Yunnan University of Applied Sciences is a public undergraduate institution and the only such university in Lincang, a Yunnan city bordering Myanmar. Its educational roots go back to a teacher-training college established in 1978, and it became a full undergraduate university in 2015. Reflecting its border location, it is designated a provincial base for training talent in Southeast and South Asian languages, offering programs such as Applied Thai and Applied Lao, and it recruits international students, particularly from neighbouring countries. The university combines teacher education with applied technology, tea science, and tourism management.
