📖 About the university

Liuzhou Railway Vocational Technical College is a public higher vocational college in Liuzhou, the largest industrial city of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and a national historic and cultural city. It was established in 1956 and its predecessor was the Liuzhou Railway Transport School, a national key secondary technical school under the Ministry of Railways, giving it nearly seventy years of specialised railway training. The college passed the acceptance review for Guangxi's high-level vocational school and specialism construction plan with the grade 'excellent' in 2022, and in 2023 it was selected again for the region's new round of high-level vocational school construction. Its new campus covers more than 660,000 square metres with about 280,000 square metres of planned building area, of which some 230,000 square metres are already in use. More than twelve thousand full-time higher vocational students study there in nine secondary colleges, two teaching departments and one education centre. Its core programmes follow the railway system closely — transport management, railway signalling and communications, locomotive and rolling stock technology, and urban rail transit operations — and the college supplies technicians to the China Railway Nanning Group and to urban metro operators across southern China and neighbouring South-East Asian rail projects.
