East China Jiaotong University in Nanchang is a public university with railway transport at its core, founded in 1971 from institutions originally affiliated with China's railway ministry. It specializes in railway and track engineering, civil engineering, transportation, electrical engineering and vehicle engineering, and continues to supply engineers to the national rail network. The university is jointly built by the province, the Ministry of Education and China Railway, and hosts research platforms in high-speed rail and transportation.
