Jiangsu Open University is a public university approved by the Ministry of Education and run by the Jiangsu provincial government, dedicated to lifelong learning for all citizens. Its predecessor, Jiangsu Radio and Television University, was founded in 1979, and the institution was renamed Jiangsu Open University in 2012. It offers open undergraduate and college programs, full-time vocational higher education, and community education across the province. The university is a leader in distance learning and continuing education in eastern China.
