📖 About the university

Zhongbei College of Nanjing Normal University is a private undergraduate independent college now based in Danyang, a city administered by Zhenjiang in southern Jiangsu Province known for its eyewear industry and Southern-dynasty stone sculptures. Founded in 1999, it was among the first batch of independent colleges approved by the Ministry of Education and is jointly run by the prestigious Nanjing Normal University and its education development foundation. The college moved progressively to a 900-mu campus in Danyang, with new students studying there from 2017 and the whole college relocating in 2020. Serving over 10,000 students, it is organised into nine schools offering around forty undergraduate programmes across education, humanities, foreign languages, information and computer engineering, business and design. A planned merger with a vocational college in 2021 was suspended, and it continues as an independent college. Drawing on its parent university, its core strengths lie in teacher education, humanities, foreign languages, information engineering and business. It suits students seeking a well-supported, broad-based undergraduate education in the Yangtze Delta.
