📖 About the university

Xinjiang Police College is a public undergraduate police academy in Urumqi under the government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Its predecessor was founded in 1950 as the Xinjiang provincial public-security school, and after several mergers it became a higher police specialist school in 2001 and was upgraded to a full undergraduate college in 2012. The college trains police and public-security officers for the vast north-western region, with programmes in public security, criminal investigation, border management and forensic science. Given Xinjiang's long international borders, it places particular emphasis on border-control and frontier-security work.
