Jingdezhen Vocational University of Art is a private bachelor-level vocational university in Jingdezhen, the Jiangxi city known worldwide for more than a thousand years as China's porcelain capital. Its predecessor was the Science and Technology Art College of the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, founded in 2001; the institute became Jingdezhen Ceramic University in 2016 and the college was renamed accordingly, before the Ministry of Education approved its conversion into Jingdezhen Vocational University of Art in 2020. As a vocational university, it offers a large number of programmes, including around twenty-nine regular undergraduate programmes, thirty-four vocational-bachelor programmes and forty-six higher-vocational programmes, spanning painting, sculpture, product design, ceramic art design, arts and crafts, visual communication, digital media art, environmental art, public art and music performance. The university is a key part of the national experimental zone for the inheritance and innovation of ceramic culture. 🌆 About Jingdezhen

Jingdezhen in northeastern Jiangxi is world-renowned as the 'Porcelain Capital,' having produced fine ceramics for over a thousand years. Its kilns supplied the imperial court from the Song through Qing dynasties and exported the blue-and-white porcelain that defined 'china' in global trade. The city preserves ancient wood-fired dragon kilns and hosts vibrant modern studios that draw artists from around the world to districts like Taoxichuan. The striking Imperial Kiln Museum celebrates this heritage in contemporary architecture. Ceramics remain the heart of the local economy and identity.
