📖 About the university
China Coast Guard Academy is a maritime law-enforcement academy in the Beilun district of Ningbo, Zhejiang province, and is the principal training institution for officers of the China Coast Guard, which operates under the People's Armed Police Force. Its origins date to 1982, when it began as the training division of the coastal patrol unit of the Zhejiang Provincial Corps of the Chinese People's Armed Police; in September 1983, the State Council approved the establishment of the Surface Vessel School of the People's Armed Police as a dedicated institution. The academy was upgraded to the Public Security Coast Guard Academy in March 2010, when it began offering undergraduate education, and it was transferred to the People's Armed Police Force and formally established under its present name on 30 June 2018. Known within China as the 'cradle of border police,' the academy trains officers in maritime law enforcement, vessel navigation and operation, coastal defence, and border management, supporting China's coast guard and maritime border patrol missions along its extensive coastline. Its campus in the port city of Ningbo gives cadets direct access to coastal and maritime training environments. As a specialised academy training Chinese coast guard and maritime police officers, it does not offer general admission for international students.

🌆 About Ningbo
Ningbo is a major port city in Zhejiang province and one of the world's busiest cargo ports, with a long history as a trading gateway on the East China Sea. With a metropolitan population of around nine million, it pairs a wealthy modern economy with a deep merchant heritage. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and cool, damp winters. Landmarks include the Tianyi Pavilion, one of the oldest surviving private libraries in Asia, the atmospheric Old Bund, the mountain monastery of Tiantong Temple, and scenic Dongqian Lake. Ningbo cuisine is famously seafood-forward and often salty-fresh, with steamed yellow croaker and sweet tangyuan rice balls among its signatures. A growing metro network, Lishe International Airport, and high-speed rail connect it to Hangzhou and Shanghai within a couple of hours. For an international student, Ningbo offers a prosperous, well-organized city, respected universities including Sino-foreign campuses, and easy access to the Yangtze Delta.
