Zhicheng Station is a historic junction: the Jiaozuo–Zhicheng section was completed in 1970 and the Zhicheng–Liuzhou section in 1978, together forming the Jiaozuo–Liuzhou railway. Both the city and station carry the old name Zhicheng, predating the city's renaming to Yidu.
