The station is about 6 km southeast of downtown; there is no metro, so use a taxi/Didi or a connecting bus. The older in-town Xingning Station (since 1994) still runs conventional trains closer to the city center.

Traveller notes

Xingning South opened on 14 September 2024 on the newly built Meizhou–Longchuan high-speed railway, cutting the trip from Xingning to Shenzhen to roughly 1.5 hours. Its lantern-inspired roof design nods to Xingning's nickname as China's 'Town of Lanterns.'
