Wuyuan has no metro. The station sits at the edge of Wuyuan town; use a local bus or a taxi/Didi to reach the town center and the famous surrounding flower-viewing villages.

Construction began in September 2013 and the station opened on 28 June 2015 with the Hefei–Fuzhou high-speed line; it is a third-class passenger station. It sees its highest passenger peaks during the spring rapeseed-flower viewing season, when daily traffic exceeds 10,000 passengers.
