Built in 1988 on the Northern Xinjiang railway, it is a first-class combined passenger-freight station under the Kuytun railway division, serving the 8th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and the university city of Shihezi, nicknamed "the first plough of the military-agricultural corps."
