🚇 To & from the city centre
The station is about 3 km northwest of downtown Lechang; there is no metro, so take a local bus or a taxi/Didi.
Lechang East opened for passenger service on 1 May 2017 on the Beijing–Guangzhou high-speed line, cutting the ride to Guangzhou to about an hour; it took years of lobbying by the local government to have it upgraded from a pass-through station to one that actually handles passengers. The older conventional Lechang Station, in service since 1936 on the classic Beijing–Guangzhou railway, still operates in the town center for slower trains.
