The heart of Yunnan's rail network and a major freight distribution centre. Ordinary passengers normally use Kunming or Kunming South instead.

🔄 Getting from the station to the airport

Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG, about 20 km): Kunming East Railway Station sits near the East Coach Terminal, from where Metro Line 6 reaches Changshui Airport in about 20 minutes for 5 yuan, making it the fast, cheap option; allow about 40 minutes door to door. A taxi is around 60 yuan.
