Rail service reached Huazhou as early as December 1958 with the Hemao railway, making it one of the first county-level cities in western Guangdong to have train service; roughly ten trains a day pass through today. The Hemao line also serves three smaller stops within Huazhou (Shandiling, Mishan and Xin'anxu).
