The terminus of the 302.9 km Bei'an–Heihe railway, this station serves one of China's main border-trade gateways to Russia. Heihe faces the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk directly across the Amur (Heilongjiang) River, linked by a road bridge and a cross-river cableway.
