Erenhot has no metro. The border crossing and town center are a short taxi ride from the station.

Traveller notes
Opened 3 January 1955 with the Jining–Erenhot railway, it became China's largest rail gateway to Mongolia, just 4.8 km from the border and 714 km from Ulaanbaatar. It underwent a fourth major capacity upgrade in 2022, and international passenger trains to Ulaanbaatar resumed in August 2023 after a pandemic-related pause.
