Yinchuan Xiguan Mosque

西关清真寺
📍 Yinchuan · Xingqing District

📜 About & history

The Xiguan (West Gate) Mosque is one of the important congregational mosques of Yinchuan, serving the Hui community of the city's western old-city quarter. In photographs from around 2019 it stood in an open square with a green central dome flanked by two green-domed minarets. As part of the region-wide 'sinicization' program, its dome and minarets were subsequently altered, giving the building a more Chinese architectural appearance. It remains an active neighborhood mosque.
