Xijie Qianying Mosque

西界前营清真寺
📍 Tai'an · Daiyue District 🏛️ Early Yuan dynasty

📜 About & history

Xijie Qianying Mosque in Qianying Village, Mazhuang Town, is a 6,000-square-metre complex including a south mosque, a west mosque and a women's mosque. It traces its origin to the early Yuan dynasty, when the garrison soldier Ma Chaoyang set up a prayer place for the Hui camp, and was restored in 1510 under the Ming. Combining Chinese palace architecture with Arab art, it keeps a Ming beamless timber rear hall and an inscribed board reading "Eternal Truth". It was repaired in 1994 and 2002 and is a Daiyue District protected site.
