📜 About & history
Xihongmen Mosque dates back to the Ming Yongle era; tradition holds that the Kangxi Emperor granted it half a set of ceremonial insignia. Burned by the Eight-Nation Alliance, it was rebuilt by the Xihongmen town government in 2012 and is a Daxing District protected heritage site. The complex of over 1,000 square metres has an old mosque to the north and a new one (2011) to the south; the east-facing prayer hall of about 265 square metres holds 250 worshippers. It is open all day.
