📜 About & history
Xiaoweigeng Mosque in Xiaoweigeng Village, Yongjian Town, was founded in the late Yuan or early Ming and is the religious centre of the local Hui. A base of Du Wenxiu's uprising, it was burned by Qing troops in 1872 and rebuilt in 1908; most of its present buildings result from 20th-century enlargements. Laid out as a Chinese courtyard, it has 2,300 square metres of buildings on about 15 mu, and its Muguang School played an important role in mosque-based education.
