Xiaotang Mosque (Taikang)

Xiaotang Mosque is at Xiaotang, Machang Town, 18 km south-east of Taikang County town, Henan, and 3 km from the Machang market town. At first it had only two simple rooms; it was later renovated with community donations and support from an Islamic fund, and today has a three-bay prayer hall, three north rooms and four east rooms (including men's and women's ablution rooms). The village has just over 100 residents, most surnamed Zhang, and because the congregation is so small it has at times struggled to support an imam.
