📜 About & history
Xiaoguan Mosque is in Xiaoguan Community, Yunyang Town, Nanzhao County, Henan, and was listed among the county's first protected heritage sites in March 1980. Founded in the Guangxu era of the Qing dynasty, it covers 3,584 m² (64 m north–south, 56 m east–west). In October 1931 everything except the front gate, the ablution rooms and the north lecture hall was destroyed; Hui from Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Luohe and elsewhere funded a new prayer hall in 1933, the south lecture hall was rebuilt in 1939 and the moon-watching tower restored in 1945. It now has a gate, eight ablution rooms, five-room north and south lecture halls, a three-bay porch, a three-bay prayer hall and the tower, laid out symmetrically; the tower has a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof about 11 m high.
