Tunxi Mosque is the only mosque in Huangshan City. It traces back to a mosque established in the Tunxi quarter during the Republican era to serve Hui merchants and residents who had settled in the city. Religious activity was halted during the Cultural Revolution, and the mosque was rebuilt in the early 1990s, resuming its role as the religious center for the city's Hui community of more than 690 people.

The mosque lies within Tunxi District, the urban core of Huangshan City, a short taxi ride from Tunxi Old Street.
Given the small congregation, visiting hours for non-Muslim visitors may be limited; contacting ahead is advisable.
