📜 About & history
The Shuiding Shaanxi Grand Mosque was built as the place of worship of Hui settlers from Shaanxi. It faces east and consists of a gatehouse, a transverse corridor, north and south side halls and the main prayer hall, with 794 square metres of floor space. Sources differ on its date: Baidu Baike says it was built in 1869-1870, while Wikipedia traces it to a small mosque of 1762 and says the present mosque was built in 1902-1905, modelled on the Great Mosque of Xi'an. It is a protected cultural relic of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
