📜 About & history

Shayan Mosque was built in 1625 (5th year of the Ming Tianqi era) by Muslims of the Peng family from Deng County, with a plaque composed by Ma Zhijun. Covering 2.8 mu, its gate and five-bay prayer hall lie on one axis, and behind the hall rises a moon-watching tower over 20 metres high whose dome bears the words "Tianming you ding". Repaired several times in the Ming and Qing, it keeps its original layout.
