The largest Hui mosque in Hami, tracing its origins to mud-brick prayer rooms built by Hui settlers on Guanghua Street in 1881. Under Shaanxi Hui notables Ma Juesan, Li Kaizong and Liu Wanying, a larger mosque was begun in August 1893 and completed in the summer of 1898. Occupying about 2,500 sq m in a courtyard layout, its 450 sq m prayer hall carries traditional Chinese motifs of plum, bamboo, pine and chrysanthemum in dominant reds and blues. It was listed as a Xinjiang autonomous-region cultural relic in 2003.

City buses serving Jiefang West Road and the old town stop within a short walk of Minzhu Lane.
In the old Hui quarter off Jiefang West Road; about 5-10 minutes by taxi from central Hami.
Hui halal noodle and lamb restaurants nearby; distinct from the Uyghur King (Wang) mosques and tombs elsewhere in Hami. Chinese spoken.
