📜 About & history

First built in 1936 beside Laoyeshan (Ethnic Unity Square) in Qiaotou, the county town of Datong. It is the largest mosque in Datong Hui and Tu Autonomous County and a focal point for the county's Hui community.

Intercity buses run Xining–Datong (Qiaotou) frequently; alight near Laoyeshan and walk to the square.

From Xining's Dongguan area take a northbound bus to Qiaotou; the mosque is in the town centre.

From downtown

Datong (Qiaotou) is about 35 km north of Xining, roughly 1 hour by bus; the mosque is beside the central Laoyeshan square.
